SeaMax Corporation was contracted to design for topside installation of production riser bolster – transfer decks. A structural analysis and design of the transfer decks which are installed on top of the electrical and hose hang-off frames for the Papa Tera TLP-P61 interface. The analysis also addressed the structural integrity of the electrical and hose hang-off frames and their tie-down weld connections to the TLP main deck.

STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS USING RFEM-RFSTEEL

The transfer decks are purposed for the landing of riser bolsters being transferred onto the platform. They consist of three segments. One segment each is installed on the electrical hang-off frame and the hose (piping) hang-off frame. A middle section is installed connection both segments. These frames are situated at the edge of the TLP rig up porch. For safety measures, the transfer decks are being fitted with a personnel fall arrest system along the perimeter of the transfer decks where personnel traffic exists.
